Sally Ayotte, RDN

Registered Dietitian Nutritionist

Sally Ayotte, RDN is a registered dietitian/nutritionist and a chef educator. As a visiting specialist at St. Vincent Health, Sally guides patients in nutrition, food choices, diabetes prevention, and diabetes management, through both in-person and telehealth appointments. She offers nutritional counseling with the goal of facilitating long-term healthy lifestyle changes.

Sally received her bachelor’s degree in Food and Nutrition from Framingham State College in Massachusetts and is a Johnson & Wales University-trained chef.

It is her goal to help patients and clients make healthy food choices for a variety of conditions and lifestyles. “As both a dietitian and a chef, my mission is to teach how easy it can be to live a healthy lifestyle,” says Sally. “My philosophy is that food should be both good and good for you.”

With training, education and expertise spanning 35 years, Sally has worked in the food and nutrition field to help people in all stages of life—from prenatal nutrition through eldercare. 

In her career she has worked extensively in both public and private sectors including healthcare, school systems, food service, and nonprofits like Head Start, Meals on Wheels, and LiveWell Colorado, upholding its mission to level up food equity for all. 

As a chef educator, Sally works with school foodservice employees across the country, assisting them with the transition from pre-made to healthy cooked-from-scratch meals for students.  

What’s one thing most people don’t know about her? “I was the executive chef for the United States Antarctic Program,” says Sally. 

In her role in the Antarctic, she was responsible for food service management for three research stations that served between 400 to 1,200 people per day. She was also patient services manager at the Alaska Native Medical Center in Anchorage, and the kitchen manager for ARAMARK at Denali Park Resorts in Alaska.

Not surprisingly, in her leisure time, Sally likes traveling to new places and enjoying the ethnic and cultural cuisines from around the nation and the globe.
